About the Role

Our client, a prominent real estate development firm with a strong national footprint, is seeking a highly skilled Property Law Specialist to join their team on a contract basis. This role is designed for a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in all facets of property law. While the role is contract-based, it offers significant flexibility with a **Remote** work arrangement, allowing the specialist to contribute effectively from any location. The Property Law Specialist will be responsible for providing expert legal advice on property acquisitions, disposals, leasing, development, and related regulatory compliance. Key responsibilities include drafting and reviewing property agreements, conducting due diligence, managing conveyancing processes, and advising on zoning and land use matters. Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of property-related agreements, including sale agreements, lease agreements, and development agreements.
• Conduct comprehensive legal due diligence on commercial, industrial, and residential properties.
• Manage and oversee the conveyancing process for property acquisitions and disposals.
• Advise on land use planning, zoning regulations, and environmental law compliance related to property development.
• Provide legal support for property financing and securitization transactions.
• Liaise with attorneys, estate agents, government authorities, and other stakeholders involved in property transactions.
• Resolve legal disputes related to property ownership, boundaries, and contractual obligations.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant property laws and regulations.
• Maintain accurate property records and manage legal documentation effectively.

Requirements

• A Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree.
• Admitted as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa, with conveyancing qualifications highly advantageous.
• A minimum of 8 years of specialized experience in South African property law, covering commercial, industrial, and residential sectors.
• Proven track record in managing complex property transactions and conveyancing.
• In-depth knowledge of the Deeds Registries Act, Sectional Titles Act, and related legislation.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Strong understanding of property development processes and related legal aspects.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage a significant workload in a remote setting.
• Exceptional communication and client management skills.
