Job Overview

Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a safety management system that ensures legal and other requirements are fulfilled.
  • Ensure compliance with Section 43 Regulations and 20 OHS acts and regulations, such as pressure equipment regulations and electrical machine regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with Section 44 Health and Safety Regulation and the South African Bureau of Standards (e.g., SANS , SANS).
  • Engineering – guarantee that machinery is designed and sized appropriately, implement control measures during engineering changes, keep technical records, and determine root causes of failures.
  • Operations – ensure machinery operates within its design specifications.
  • Maintenance – develop, implement, and maintain maintenance management programs and keep statutory machinery records.
  • Project management – coordinate and control complex activities, foresee dangers, plan, organise, control, and manage risks.
  • Direct employees and contractors to meet safety, business, engineering, operations, and quality objectives.
  • Define, action, control, lead, and plan within the area of responsibility.

Keep daily performance and scheduled documents up to date.

Provide leadership-level feedback to overall management for projects and improvements.

Maintain a sound IR environment.

Support improvement projects with resource management and decision making.

Foster teamwork.

Qualifications
