Salary – £28,030 - £29,244

Role

This is an excellent opportunity to further your career in archaeology. It is vital that you are a good team member with a positive and enthusiastic approach to archaeology. You will also need to be self‑motivating and able to work independently and under your own initiative, and it will be necessary to work away from home with overnight stays. Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and participate in archaeological excavations, evaluations and surveys, ensuring accurate recording and adherence to fieldwork methodologies and best practice
  • Supervise and mentor junior archaeologists, helping to foster a collaborative and learning‑focused environment
  • Work independently when required, ensuring that all work is conducted to professional standards and project requirements
  • Ensure health and safety compliance on‑site, in line with current industry standards and AOC’s policies
  • Contribute to the delivery of diverse and exciting archaeological projects
  • Be flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work away from home and across multiple sites as required
Essential

About You

  • Strong knowledge of archaeological field techniques and methodologies
  • A motivated and professional archaeologist, eager to develop your career with a forward‑thinking company
  • A dynamic team player, with a positive and enthusiastic approach to archaeology
  • Self‑motivated and able to work independently when needed
  • Degree‑level qualification in archaeology or a related field
  • Full driving licence
Desirable
  • CSCS card or equivalent HSE training
  • CAT and Genny Training
  • CIfA registration (PCIfA or ACIfA level)
