Job description

Our client a leading electrical wholesaler is seeking a highly organised and results-driven Project Procurement Manager for their Midrand branch.

This position will oversee all procurement and project coordination activities related to cable projects.

This includes managing the procurement and delivery of cables, joints, terminations, racking systems, low-voltage, and overhead line accessories.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, monitoring, and closing out multiple large-scale procurement projects, ensuring delivery within budget, schedule, and quality requirements.

Operational Processes Accountabilities
  • Schedule regular meetings and record decisions
  • Track and measure actions and tasks and set timeframes and goals
  • Create and update workflows
  • Log relevant data on the divisions tracking platforms
  • Prepare and provide documentation to internal teams and key stakeholders
  • Ensure required resources are available
  • Ensure that all necessary information is available and on file
  • Track expenses and costs
  • Monitor project progress and address potential issues
  • Coordinate quality controls to ensure deliverables meet requirements
  • Measure and report on project performance
  • Act as the point of contact for all participants
Supplier / Stakeholder Accountabilities
  • Suppliers: continuous liaison, maintain relationships and develop new relationships
  • Branches: continuous liaison, develop relationships with staff and managers
  • Continuous liaison with relevant Project Managers / Divisional Directors
  • Ensure due delivery dates are met
  • Assist Distribution Centre with project supply issues, ensuring documentation, packaging and material handling are performed correctly
  • Assist with client inspections including BV inspections
  • Assist with stock take on PID project stock
Requirements
  • Relevant qualification in Project Management, Procurement or Legal
  • Proven experience in project procurement, with a successful track record of delivering on time and within budget
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and legal contractual obligations
