Job summary

Tafadzwa is seeking a Project Manager: ICT and Systems Integration to spearhead technology-enabled projects in the minibus taxi sector. You will lead commuter engagement platforms, industry app projects, and electronic fare systems, reporting to the Head of Projects.

Responsibilities include managing project lifecycles, coordinating cross-functional teams, configuring platforms, and ensuring stability and cost-effectiveness of ICT platforms with ongoing enhancements.

Qualifications

• Matric/Grade 12 completed.
• English plus at least 5 African languages required.
• Bachelor's degree in ICT or PM advantageous.
• Experience developing ICT solutions including mobile apps and web offerings.
• Up-to-date with ICT trends and continuous improvement tools.
• Experience in process map development.
• Solid project management track record.
• Strong MS Office and software systems knowledge.
• Own transport required.

Responsibilities

Job description

Our client is recruiting for a Project Manager: ICT and Systems Integration who will be responsible for leading the implementation of technology-enabling projects within the minibus taxi industry. This project manager will be the primary focus of commuter engagement platforms, industry association engagement mobile APPs, and electronic fare collection systems. The role reports to the Head of Projects.

Responsibilities

• Implement the portfolio of approved projects based on the PMO's project pipeline.
• Manage the project implementation lifecycle based on best-practice project management principles and the portfolio of approved projects based on the PMO's project pipeline.

• Engage with the minibus taxi industry to plan and deploy the agreed-upon projects, where appropriate.
• Coordinate and manage the project's cross-functional team and external subject matter experts (including coders and software developers) as required from time to time.
• Configure the technology platform that is to be deployed into a specific project that requires customisation for the client of choice.
• Ensure that technology systems are adequately capacitated, stable, backed up and fit for purpose.
• Manage the process of enhancements and further updates to software and mobile applications where relevant and appropriate for the benefit of the project.
• Manage the process of integrating systems and back-ends with the relevant databases and user interfaces where relevant and project-appropriate.
• Implement continuous improvement to the ICT platforms to ensure accuracy, stability and cost-effectiveness.
• Coordinate with the lead Project Manager as the project develops with constant 'go - no go' checkpoints.
• Develop additional ICT project concepts for the minibus taxi industry, where appropriate and tasked by the PMO Head.
• Manage the deployment of ICT solutions on offer within the PMO, into the minibus taxi industry, by supporting the project lead.
• Manage the user training processes and ensure adequate post-implementation support is provided to the client/project.
• Develop user training manuals where required and ensure this is kept updated and relevant to the solution being deployed.
• Ensure that the implementation/continuation of projects aligns with the original goals and objectives.
• Escalate risks and challenges to the PMO Head for intervention and support.
• Ensure proper stakeholder management and build a credible relationship between PMO and the minibus taxi industry as a whole.

Minimum Requirements

• Matric/Grade 12
• Proficient in English and at least 5 African languages
• A bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in ICT or Project Management would be advantageous
• Experience in developing ICT solutions, including mobile APP's and web-based offerings
• Familiar and keeps up to date with latest ICT trends, solutions, continuous improvement tools, methodologies, enhancements and upgrades
• Experience in process map development
• Solid project management implementation track record
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office & other software systems
• Must have own transport
