Job summary

Sydsen Group seeks an accomplished Senior Project Manager to lead large, complex customer and plant implementations within a manufacturing and process engineering environment. You will own execution strategy, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and ensure delivery against cost, schedule, quality, EHS and customer expectations.

Key responsibilities include leading project execution, developing schedules, managing risks and changes, and driving commercial discussions with stakeholders.

• Provide executive-level reporting and maintain relationships with customers and contractors.

Job description

We are looking for an accomplished Senior Project Manager to lead the execution of large, complex customer and plant implementation projects within a manufacturing and process engineering environment.

The role will take ownership of major projects following sales handover, setting the execution strategy, coordinating technical teams and partners, and ensuring delivery against cost, schedule, quality, EHS and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead large and complex customer implementation and plant projects
• Develop project execution strategies following sales handover
• Establish and manage agreed project schedule baselines
• Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams, contractors and project partners
• Manage cost, schedule, quality and EHS performance
• Monitor project risks and opportunities
• Manage scope changes, technical deviations and change orders
• Develop and manage claims strategies
• Lead commercial discussions with customers, subcontractors and partners
• Conduct project reviews and executive-level reporting
• Coordinate site briefings, documentation and project handovers
• Maintain senior-level customer and contractor relationships
• Resolve contractual and project delivery disputes
• Coach project team members and drive continuous improvement
• Capture lessons learned and best practices following project completion

Minimum Requirements

• Mechanical Engineering degree – essential
• Current PMP certification – essential
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Project Manager
• Proven delivery of large, complex industrial or plant implementation projects
• Strong experience within FMCG, industrial manufacturing, food processing or process engineering environments
• Experience working with international or regional stakeholders
• Strong commercial experience covering scope, risk, claims, variations and negotiations
• Proven leadership of multidisciplinary teams and contractors
• Strong client-facing and stakeholder-management capability
• Must be available for regional and international travel across Africa, the Middle East and India
