WHAT YOU'LL DO
As the Community Manager for adidas Runners (AR) South Africa you will be the most important contact person for our three adidas Runners community teams in Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg. You will be responsible for executing and carrying project‑related tasks to ensure a smooth, high‑class project realization that meets our client’s standards within a given budget and time frame, and for further developing the AR communities in each city.
- Steering of community teams in Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg, including strong and consistent communication, education and guidance
- Ensuring continuous development and education of community team based on strategies, concepts, product innovations and brand campaigns
- Aligning execution with brand strategy and visual/verbal identity
- Carrying out all project and community management needs to ensure a smooth, high‑class project realization in close contact with the client and community Captains in each city
- Planning projects and maintaining task lists, milestones and timelines; reporting KPIs; budget controlling and invoice management
- Managing community teams in all three cities to ensure smooth implementation and realization of daily activations and larger monthly activations
- Developing and maintaining a yearly AR monthly schedule and weekly activations
- Providing digital support and technical support, including uploading sessions to the app
- Assisting with on‑the‑ground management during regular activation visits
- Translating global toolkits for local execution
- Coordinating topics related to the local ecosystem of the projects (vendors, partnerships, brand assets, etc.)
- Collaborating with the social media manager to ensure amplifying all community‑run and activation activities
- Managing client, stakeholders and suppliers
WHO YOU ARE
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study
- At least 2 years of agency work experience with large corporations
- Innovative approach to challenges and a cooperative communication style
- Meticulous, organized, and able to reach targets efficiently and effectively
- Detail‑oriented with the ability to synthesize small details into the overall picture
- Active mindset, proactive work ethic, and natural problem‑solving ability
- Strong relationship‑building skills
- Excellent writing and communication skills, with assertiveness when needed
- Technologically savvy and enthusiastic about trends and insights
- Passionate about sports and running
- Proficient MS‑Office user
- Team player with a friendly personality who shares responsibilities across groups
