Job description

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and successful delivery of control and automation projects in Kathu. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in Electrical, Control, and Instrumentation (EC&I) systems, with proven experience managing complex industrial or mining projects from initiation to handover.

Applicants must either reside in Kathu or be willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

• Manage all project phases, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and close-out.
• Oversee engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities to ensure on-time delivery and adherence to scope, budget, and quality standards.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and progress reports.
• Identify and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams and manage subcontractors, ensuring coordination across all project interfaces.
• Facilitate technical and progress meetings with clients and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with company and client quality, safety, and environmental standards.
• Manage project documentation, change control, and reporting requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement and ensure customer satisfaction upon project completion.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma (NQF6), BTech, BEng in Electrical, Control, or Instrumentation Engineering.
• 12 years of experience managing projects within industrial automation, electrical, or instrumentation environments.
• Proven experience delivering turnkey EC&I or system integration projects (mining sector experience advantageous).
• Sound understanding of project management principles (PMBOK or PRINCE2 certification beneficial).
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in MS Project or similar scheduling tools.
• Project Management Qualification.

Additional Requirements

• Valid driver’s licence (Code 10).
• Medically fit for site work.
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to Kathu, Northern Cape.
