Project Manager (SAP Basis & Technical Upgrades)Location : Hybrid / Pretoria South AfricaSeniority : Mid–Senior LevelWe are looking for aProject Managerwith a strongSAP Basis backgroundto lead complex technical projects across SAP landscapes.

This role requires bothdeep technical understandingandstrong leadership and communication skillsto engage effectively with technical teams and executive stakeholders.About the RoleYou'll take ownership of planning and delivering annualSAP maintenance, patching, and upgrade cyclesacross multiple environments, including databases and operating systems.

You will lead a technical team, manage client expectations at a senior level, and ensure that all systems remain secure, compliant, and up to date.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage SAP technical projects, including upgrades, patching, and infrastructure refreshes.
  • Develop and maintain annual maintenance and lifecycle plans for SAP applications, operating systems, and databases.
  • Manage and mentor a cross-functional technical team to deliver high-quality results.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients, providing regular updates and engaging confidently at a senior level.
  • Ensure proper governance, risk management, and adherence to project management methodologies.
  • Coordinate with Basis, OS, and database teams to align upgrade timelines and minimize downtime.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience in SAP Basis administration and related infrastructure.
  • 3+ years of project management or technical leadership experience.
  • Strong understanding of SAP patching, upgrade, and lifecycle management processes.
  • Experience with Linux / RHEL and Oracle (or similar enterprise databases).
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
  • Project Management certification (PMP, Prince2, or equivalent) would be a great advantage.
