A strategic operations consulting firm in Gauteng is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee sales and marketing projects. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in project management, a strong background in sales and marketing, and excel in coordinating cross-functional teams. This role is pivotal in driving commercial outcomes and ensuring initiatives are implemented efficiently and effectively.
We're looking for a results-driven, highly organised Operations-minded Project Manager withstrong exposure to Sales and Marketing.
This person is not a traditional Marketing or SalesManager, but rather a strategic executor - someone who can plan, coordinate, and delivercross-functional projects, drive commercial outcomes, and ensure initiatives are implementedefficiently, on time, and within budget.This individual will serve as the link between strategy and execution, working closely with theleadership team to turn ideas into actionable campaigns and projects that grow the brand,generate leads, and improve overall business performance.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee and manage sales and marketing projects end-to-end, from planning andbudgeting to execution and post-implementation review.Translate strategic objectives into detailed project plans with measurable deliverablesand clear accountability.Coordinate cross-departmental collaboration, ensuring operations, sales, and marketingefforts are aligned and mutually reinforcing.Drive sales and marketing initiatives (campaigns, activations, communityengagement, events, digital campaigns, etc.) and track performance metrics.Manage project budgets, ensuring initiatives are delivered within approved costframeworks and with measurable ROI.Monitor progress against timelines and objectives, proactively identifying risks andbottlenecks.Mobilise and motivate team members across departments to meet milestones anddeliverables.Support leadership with strategic planning, performance reporting, and operationalinsights.Build simple, effective systems for tracking projects, budgets, and outcomes.Champion continuous improvement in how projects are scoped, executed, and reviewed.Key CompetenciesStrong project and operational management skills — structured, disciplined, andexecution-oriented.Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.Strong commercial understanding and business acumen - can link operational activityto revenue and growth outcomes.Solid understanding of marketing and sales principles, including campaign execution,funnel management, and customer engagement.High people leadership capability - able to coordinate, influence, and driveaccountability across teams.Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skillsfortable working in a fast-paced, agile environment where priorities shift and deliveryis key.Data-driven and analytical — able to evaluate project success through measurableoutcomes.Experience & Background5+ years of experience in project management, operations, or a similarexecution-driven role.Demonstrated exposure to sales and marketing environments and successful projectexecution (campaigns, brand initiatives, lead generation, community activations, ordigital marketing projects).
Proven track record of managing multiple initiatives simultaneously and delivering withindeadlines and budget.Strong experience working cross-functionally with leadership, sales, marketing, andoperations teams.Tertiary qualification in Business Management, Marketing, or Project Managementpreferred (or equivalent practical experience).
