The Project Manager works closely with the Operations Manager to establish and maintain a strong operational infrastructure and assists in managing the service and project teams in delivering the services, optimizing the commercial outcomes and ensuring that work is carried out in accordance with company procedures and policies and all statutory legislation. Assist in the business development of the company, ensure the continuing training and development of team members and to coordinate and liaise best practice with other departments and services to maximize added value

Job Requirements
  1. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Power Point, Excel, Word and Outlook.
  2. Project Management National Certificate (NQF Level 5), or
  3. Project management experience, displaying skills, techniques and applications within the Wind Energy related industries, of at least 3 years.
  4. Technical / Mechanical Trade Certificate (NQF Level 5), or
  5. Background in understanding in relevant SANS standards, compliance requirements and Construction Regulations.
  6. Display good organizational skills, implement management techniques to control allocated resources.
  7. Good people management and leadership skills demonstrating interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage people, conflict resolution and negotiation tactics.
  8. The ability to work well under pressure, outside the box thinking and make situational decisions in line with company interests
  9. Valid Driver’s License
  10. Medically fit

CORE FUNCTIONS
  1. Manage and control the infrastructure and its service lines, by delivering exceptional customer service with both internal and external stakeholders.
  2. Provide programme/project management attributes for projects, work schedules and activities within the specified time frames and within allocated budgets.
  3. Comply with legal requirements, assist with IMS accreditation and Health and Safety implementation, by ensuring company processes, policies and practices are adhered to by all subordinates.
  4. Support business development opportunities within the company.
  5. Provide ad‑hoc functions as required.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Manage and control the infrastructure and its service lines, by delivering exceptional customer service with both internal and external stakeholders
    • Ensure training and coaching employees, communicating project expectations and appraising their performance
    • Demonstrate visible leadership and commitment to the company values, objectives, and goals, including HSE and quality performance.
    • Assist HR Department with training of operational staff, capacity management of teams and skills development for employees.
    • Conduct annual reviews and performance‑based sessions with subordinates, as per company policy.
    • Maintain communication with project stakeholders.
    • Liaise closely with the company’s other departments to implement the groups international systems and processes, where applicable.
  2. Provide programme/project management attributes for projects, work schedules and activities within the specified time frames and within allocated budgets
    1. Utilise management tools, including effective scheduling, to maximise productivity and profitability margins
    2. Manage the ordering and delivery processes, while working closely with the Manufacturer’s to ensure the appropriate spares are available to complete works, as per Client requests.
    3. Follow the Project Management Process in the discharge of project activities onsite and / or off site
    4. Take accountability for performance outcomes and assigned project tasks, delegate responsibility appropriately to subordinates and follow up as needed.
    5. Work as a project team member or a member of the project personnel.
    6. Identification, appraisal and management of sub‑contractors.
    7. Demonstrate an ability to analyse, diagnose and resolve project issues, using project management tools and professional judgement to resolve discreet problems at a project level.
    8. Report project performance and status of projects and related activities to management.
    9. Responsible for maintaining projects against agreed budgets, managing expenses and project related costs.
    10. Work in line with the project interface document (i.e. bridging document, contract) to maintain the alignment of client and company processes during the project lifecycle.
    11. Ensure teams work to agreed project parameters, ensuring compliance and assurance of delivery against the project objectives.
    12. Ensure that the project trackers are kept updated.
    13. Liaise with clients on project status.
    14. Prepare and check timesheets of teams and submit to HR within the required time frame.
    15. Submit work hours of teams to finance within the required timeframes.
    16. Review daily work reports and receive from LMI’s and submit to finance within the time frames.
    17. Conduct regular site visits.
  3. Comply with legal requirements, assist with IMS accreditation and Health and Safety implementation, by ensuring company processes, policies and practices are adhered to by all subordinates
    1. Support the risk management process during the projects.
    2. Support the management of change process during projects and company strategy requirements.
    3. Occasionally, visit or facilitate the visit of projects / operations as assigned to review quality, SHE or IMS audits.
    4. Manage operating procedures, processes, asset management, IMS standards and supportive functions.
    5. Ensure all reporting and certification requirements are completed accurately and in a timely fashion.
  4. Support business development opportunities within the company
    1. Identify and report identify on‑site opportunities for new services.
    2. Support other departments for bids, case studies and other corporate activities as necessary or assigned.
    3. Assess customer requirements and ensuring that these are met.
  5. Provide ad‑hoc functions as required
    1. Provide onsite assistance with statutory inspections to be conducted as per work requirements.
    2. Conduct onsite audits as required by IMS and SHE requirements.
    3. Conduct special projects as assigned.
    4. Perform other job‑related duties as necessary or assigned
