We are seeking a highly organised and driven Graduate Project Manager Intern to support the establishment and coordination of an internal Project Management Office (PMO) within a fast-growing corporate environment. The role is responsible for ensuring that strategic projects, executive-level meetings, and high-priority action items are tracked, managed, and executed with precision, efficiency, and strategic alignment. You will drive operational coordination, support executive decision-making, and promote a culture of accountability and delivery excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in setting up and maintaining PMO structures aligned with strategic business objectives.
- Develop and manage project documentation, templates, dashboards, and reporting tools.
- Ensure consistent tracking, follow-up, and visibility of key projects and initiatives.
- Review AI-generated meeting summaries to extract action items and allocate responsibilities.
- Track and manage executive-level tasks and follow-ups within digital workflow systems.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project and task dashboards.
- Collaborate with various departments to align timelines, deliverables, and project priorities.
- Support the consolidation of departmental goals into a central strategic project plan.
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports for executive review.
- Monitor task completion rates and follow-up on outstanding actions.
- Ensure timely escalation of delays or risks impacting project timelines.
- Promote structured project management practices across teams.
- Apply analytical thinking to identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements.
- Drive accountability by ensuring every action item has a clear owner and deadline.
- Maintain high standards of documentation accuracy and task clarity.
- Support the culture of disciplined execution and strategic alignment.
- Manage and present project updates through dashboards and summary packs for leadership meetings.
- Filter, prioritise, and present actionable insights from AI-generated meeting and email summaries.
- Support risk tracking and elevate delays or off-track project items for executive attention.
- Support cross-functional collaboration between departments on strategic initiatives.
- Assist in coordinating executive projects, strategic reviews, and governance documentation.
Requirements
- National Senior Certificate (Matric) or equivalent (required)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline (required)
- Postgraduate qualification or ongoing studies in strategy, analytics, or management (advantageous)
