Job summary

A leading engineering firm in South Africa is seeking a Project Engineer to perform system design and control implementation. You will provide technical leadership and guidance while confirming the feasibility of mechanical solutions. The ideal candidate has at least 4 years of experience in manufacturing, a diploma in engineering, and the ability to work both independently and in a team. This role may require travel nationally and internationally.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years' experience as a Project Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must have a positive attitude and be self-motivated.

Responsibilities

  • Perform system design and control implementation under Project Manager's leadership.
  • Provide technical leadership for project standards and criteria.
  • Confirm technical feasibility of mechanical solutions.
  • Provide guidance and support to teams and clients.
  • Stay knowledgeable on relevant products and technology.

Requirements and skills
  • Diploma in Engineering as minimum requirement – Mechanical, Mechatronic or Industrial Engineering.
  • Minimum experience: 4 years’ experience as a Project Engineer preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be computer literate in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, 2D CAD, 3D CAD (advantageous).
  • Must have the ability to work independently as well as function within a team.
  • Must be able to travel both nationally and internationally.
  • A positive attitude, self-motivated and reliable.
Key Responsibilities
  • To perform system design and control implementation of said designs, under the leadership of the Project Manager.
  • To provide technical leadership with regards to solutions offered, so that projects are completed to specific standards and criteria, within cost and to the required schedule.
  • To confirm technical feasibility of mechanical solutions as offered to customers.
  • To provide technical guidance and support to project team, operations department, sales department and clients.
  • To become and stay knowledgeable on products, components and technology applicable to product range.
