Job summary

Jean-Mari Hellig Consult is seeking an experienced engineer to lead and deliver complex projects with a strong focus on OTIF delivery. You will coordinate design, R&D, data capture and testing while collaborating with suppliers and internal teams.

The role requires 5+ years in project management, mechanical design in production, and a solid grasp of manufacturing processes. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics or Mechanical engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of practical experience, including 3 years in project management and design.
• Proven track record delivering projects OTIF with professional PM practices.
• Experience in mechanical design in a production environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor assigned engineering projects.
• Assist PM to compile URS aligned with project scope.
• Ensure OTIF project delivery across all phases.
• Execute design, R&D, data capture and testing per project plan.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, coworkers and suppliers to deliver projects OTIF.
• Identify risks and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with statutory regulations related to design and implementation.
• Compile drawings, BOMs and parts lists as required.
• Document technical specs, manuals and SOPs as needed.
• Review project expenses against budget and manage changes.
• Support maintenance and conduct root cause analysis for breakdowns.
• Assist quality team with customer complaints and preventive actions.
• Identify value engineering opportunities to optimise processes.
• Support design and related issues for the team.
• Identify and mitigate product and OHS risks.
• Balance time between design/problem solving and project management.

Job description

Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor assigned engineering projects.
• Assist Project Manager to compile URS in line with project scope.
• Ensure assigned projects are delivered OTIF in line with project scope and by completing all phases of project process.
• Execute technical responsibilities in line with project plan including Design, Research and Development, Data Capturing, Testing etc.
• Collaboration with all relevant stakeholders, coworkers and suppliers to ensure project are delivered OTIF.
• Anticipate any potential project risks, identifying and establishing corrective actions.
• Ensure adherence to all statutory regulations relating to project design and implementation.
• Compile manufacturing drawings, BOMs and parts list as required by projects.
• Record and document applicable project requirements including technical specs, manuals, SOP, work instructions etc.
• Review and track project expenses in line with project budget.
• Ensure effective change control when introducing new technologies, methods, processes or equipment to the company.
• Provide support to the Maintenance team in machine breakdowns and root cause analysis.
• Provide support to the quality team on customer complaints and implementation of preventative action plans.
• Identify value-engineering opportunities to optimise current process capability.
• Provide support to the rest of the team on design and related issues.
• Identify and Mitigate potential product and OHS risks.
• 50% Designing & Problem Solving / 50% Project Management

Education and Experience:

• 5 years of practical experience at least 3 years of experience in project management, engineering, systems design, or other related field.
• Proven track record of delivering projects OTIF in line with professional project management principles.
• Experience of Mechanical Design in a production environment.
• Industrial automation and electrical control system experience will be advantageous.
• Experience in pneumatic system design.
• Good understanding of Manufacturing Processes.
