Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a seasoned project manager with a strong background in automotive engineering to lead projects from inception to completion in Midrand, South Africa. The ideal candidate will have a B.Eng or Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronics Engineering, a minimum of 5 years experience, and strong knowledge of manufacturing processes. Responsibilities include coordinating resources, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage automotive projects from inception to completion.

  • Communicate project status and updates to stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement project plans, including scope, schedule, and budget management.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive project success.
  • Oversee projects onsite.
  • Ensure capacity and resource planning is generated on time.

Minimum Job Requirements :

  • Minimum 5 years experience in the Automotive industry.
  • Relevant knowledge and background in the Automotive industry.
  • Good process knowledge and understanding, an added advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of Automotive manufacturing processes and technologies.
  • Good understanding of project cost control.
Responsibilities :
  • Lead and manage automotive projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Co-ordinate project activities, resources, and stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
  • Communicate project status and updates to stakeholders, team members, and senior management.
  • Develop and implement project plans, including scope, schedule, and budget management.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.

  • Oversee projects onsite.
  • Ensure that capacity planning and resource planning is generated on time for all project activities.
Competencies :
  • Customer on-site visits with interventions / mechanical & electromechanical maintenance support.
  • Analysis, conception and coordination of marketing and sales activities.
  • Ability to prioritise, plan and manage project work effectively and appropriately.
  • High degree of computer literacy knowledge of Microsoft PC applications.
  • Ability to understand and meet customer requirements.
  • Budget tracking and responsibility for cost incurred within the project / s for all project activities.
  • High standard of oral and written communication to converse at all levels within the organisation.
