Job Purpose

The role of the Programme Academic Lead is to co-ordinate and to facilitate, within the formal structures of the campus, all aspects of the learning and teaching process.

The role includes the implementation of the learning and teaching strategies to improve the quality of learning and meet delivery outcomes by implementing student support and related academic activities.

Contributes to programme improvements (content and assessments)

Programme Coordination

Accountable for coordination of students on-boarding

Coordination of a programme and curriculum review

Participate in material and assessment development

Coordination of students' admissions into programmes

Coordination of student consultations

Programme ownership and responsibility

Academic Management and Leadership

Campus academic performance

On boarding of all academic and student support staff

Academic and student support integration

Campus Timetables

Creation and promotion of academic culture on campus

Management of resources

Responsible for recruitment and management of

Education Qualifications

Bachelor Honours in Accounting

Bachelor of Accounting

Post Graduate Diploma in Higher Education would be advantageous.

Master's degree would be an add advantage

Work Experience

3 - 5 years Higher Education Teaching experience

5 yrs Industry Experience

3 - 5 Coordination of teaching and learning activities

An understanding of the current South African Higher Education regulatory framework and its impact on higher education and private colleges
