Programme Coordinator (Education) required in Roodepoort.
A private higher education institution is seeking an experienced and academically strong Programme Coordinator to oversee the B.Ed Management programme. This role requires an individual with deep curriculum knowledge, strong programme leadership skills, and prior experience within the private education sector.
This is a senior academic coordination role responsible for curriculum oversight, academic quality, programme delivery, lecturer management, and ensuring effective teaching, learning and assessment practices across the programme.
As the Programme Coordinator you will manage the full academic lifecycle of the B.Ed Management programme, ensuring high-quality delivery and compliance with institutional, regulatory and curriculum standards. This includes oversight of learning material development, academic staff coordination, Work Integrated Learning components, assessments, programme review, and student academic experience.
This role is ideal for someone with a solid Foundation Phase background, strong higher education admin management skills, and the ability to drive academic excellence and programme quality.
Salary: R55 000 – R65 000 per month.
Minimum Requirements:
- Master’s Degree (M.Ed) essential – PhD preferred
- Strong academic knowledge of B.Ed Foundation Phase, teaching methodologies, curriculum delivery and NQF requirements
- 3–5 years’ experience in a private higher education environment
- Experience coordinating academic programmes, modules, lecturers or WIL
- Solid understanding of curriculum development, teaching & learning, assessment and academic quality assurance
- Ability to support lecturers, markers, mentors and academic admin teams
- Experience with academic technology, e-learning and multimedia-based teaching tools
- Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills
- Able to work under pressure, meet deadlines and manage multiple workflows
- Strong academic leadership and programme management ability
- Skilled in analysing learning materials and teaching methodologies
- Excellent coordination, relationship-building, academic writing and reporting skills
- Understanding of distance/blended learning and instructional technologies

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Programme Coordination & Curriculum Management
- Oversee the coordination, development, review and implementation of teaching, learning and assessment materials for the B.Ed programme
- Ensure all learning materials meet programme exit-level outcomes and align with latest curriculum and legislative requirements
- Identify, appoint and support module developers, critical readers, and external examiners
- Ensure copyright compliance and academic integrity across all materials
- Coordinate teaching and learning activities, ensuring alignment with academic standards
- Evaluate and approve module packs, assignments, tutorial letters and assessment instruments
- Lecturer Management & Academic Oversight
- Oversee all Lecturers assigned to the programme and report regularly to Academic Head
- Ensure sufficient and suitably qualified lecturers are appointed for each module
- Chair lecturer meetings and provide ongoing support with academic delivery and assessment
- Support lecturers in developing multimedia sessions, assessment papers, memorandums and learning support materials
- Ensure lecturers adhere to institutional policies, deadlines, moderation processes and e-learning practices
- Drive innovation in teaching methodologies and technology-based curriculum delivery
- Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Support
- Oversee and support the placement, monitoring, assessment and reporting of WIL components
- Ensure WIL activities align with curriculum requirements and student outcomes
- Teaching, Learning & Assessment Quality
- Review and monitor the implementation of teaching, learning and assessment policies
- Moderate and analyse assessment outcomes to ensure programme quality
- Coordinate internal moderation processes and ensure NQF standards are met
- Guide lecturers and markers on marking practices, uniformity, assessment design and student support
- Ensure assessment instruments are set, moderated, and submitted within deadlines
- Programme Review & Reporting
- Participate in annual programme reviews and recommend improvements to academic head
- Provide cycle-end reports for each module including feedback, challenges, risks and enhancements
- Ensure ongoing monitoring of programme compliance, academic standards and student experience
- Maintain knowledge of developments within the field of Education, specifically Foundation Phase
