Placements24 is assisting a prominent NGO in Klerksdorp, North West, South Africa, to recruit an experienced Program Officer - Education. The role focuses on developing and overseeing educational initiatives to improve learning outcomes for regional students.

The ideal candidate will have a Master’s in Education or related field, 5+ years in education program management, and proven skills in curriculum design, teacher training, and assessment.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Education, Curriculum Development, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of program management experience in education, preferably in NGO/non-profit.
• Experience in curriculum design, teacher training, and educational assessment.
• Strong understanding of the South African education system and its challenges.
• Excellent project management, organizational, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage educational programs in line with organizational objectives.
• Provide technical support and guidance to schools, teachers, and students participating in programs.
• Monitor program progress, collect data, and evaluate program effectiveness against set goals.
• Develop and manage program budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources.
• Foster strong relationships with educational institutions, government bodies, and other partners.
• Organize training workshops and professional development sessions for educators.
• Identify challenges and opportunities within the educational landscape and propose relevant interventions.
• Prepare regular reports on program activities, achievements, and challenges for stakeholders.
• Stay informed about current trends and best practices in education and non-profit program management.
• Represent the organization at educational forums and community meetings.
