Responsibilities
  • Duties : Teaching undergraduate and postgraduate modules in Educational Psychology.

Participating in the development and assessment of teaching and learning opportunities.

Researching and publishing in areas of specialisation.

Supervision of postgraduate students.

Identifying and applying for research funding.

Participating in Social Impact projects and rendering appropriate services to Stellenbosch University (SU) and the teaching community.

Performing academic and programme management functions.

Qualifications

Requirements: A relevant PhD in Educational Psychology / Education.

An appropriate teaching qualification.

A strong academic record, including international collaborations.

NRF grading (Full Professor).

Sound expertise and experience of interpretive research.

Thorough knowledge of educational psychology; learning support, educational changes, policy and context.

Relevant teaching and training experience at tertiary level.

Computer literacy, with the ability to use various Microsoft programs (Word, PowerPoint, Teams, online teaching platforms).

Commitment to further research and leadership.

Attending and presenting papers at national and international conferences.

Recent and relevant publications in accredited peer-reviewed journals.

Recommendations: Registration as Educational Psychologist with the Health Professions Council South Africa (HPCSA).

Good administrative and organisational skills.
