Duties:

  • Teaching undergraduate and postgraduate modules in Educational Psychology.
  • Participating in the development and assessment of teaching and learning opportunities.
  • Researching and publishing in areas of specialisation.
  • Supervision of postgraduate students.
  • Identifying and applying for research funding.
  • Participating in Social Impact projects and rendering appropriate services to Stellenbosch University (SU) and the teaching community.
  • Performing academic and programme management functions.

Requirements:

  • A relevant PhD in Educational Psychology/Education.
  • An appropriate teaching qualification.
  • A strong academic record, including international collaborations.
  • NRF grading (Full Professor).
  • Sound expertise and experience of interpretive research.
  • Thorough knowledge of educational psychology; learning support, educational changes, policy and context.
  • Relevant teaching and training experience at tertiary level.
  • Computer literacy, with the ability to use various Microsoft programs (Word, PowerPoint, Teams, online teaching platforms).
  • Commitment to further research and leadership.
  • Attending and presenting papers at national and international conferences.
  • Recent and relevant publications in accredited peer-reviewed journals.

Recommendations:

  • Registration as Educational Psychologist with the Health Professions Council South Africa (HPCSA).
  • Good administrative and organisational skills.
