NORTH-WEST UNIVERSITY (POTCHEFSTROOM CAMPUS) invites applications for Associate Professor / Professor in the Faculty of Education, Department of School of Professional Studies in Education. The appointment is permanent and based at Potchefstroom Campus.

The role focuses on teaching undergraduate and postgraduate modules, supervising postgraduate students, conducting impactful research and contributing to community service, with opportunities to lead strategic research initiatives.

Formación

• PhD in Curriculum Studies (NQF level 9) required.
• At least 3 years of teaching experience in higher education.
• Proven record of quality accredited publications.
• Experience leading and participating in research projects preferred.
• Experience supervising masters and PhD theses.

Responsabilidades

• Teach undergraduate modules.
• Teach and supervise postgraduate students.

Desired Experience & Qualification

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• A PhD in Curriculum Studies (NQF level 9).
• A minimum of 3 years’ proven and comprehensive teaching experience in higher education.
• Author of a substantial number of quality accredited research articles/books/chapters in the field.
• Leading and participating in research projects is preferable.
• Supervisor of completed masters and PhD studies.

Functional / Technical Competencies (Knowledge and Skills)

• Have a proven record of presenting at/attending relevant national and international conferences.
• Demonstrate leadership in the field.
• Involvement in teaching and/or research activities at community level.
• Record of national and international networking, collaboration, and recognition.

Behavioural Competencies

• Team worker.
• Good interpersonal relations.

Remuneration: The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
