A large consulting company with offices across South Africa working on projects worldwide is looking for a Professional Structural Engineer.

Minimum requirements :

• BSc / MSc or BEng or BTech in structural engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years plus of relevant experience within a consulting engineering business operating within the commercial Built Environment.
• Professionally Registered or about the Register (Pr.Eng or similar)
• A strong background in the lateral design of structures using software such as Etabs, Strand7 or similar.
• Experience with managing design teams, to complete tasks and produce high quality deliverables such as drawings, reports, and calculations on time.
• International project experience (outside Africa beneficial)

Your responsibilities will include :

• Able to lead teams and junior engineers and modellers.
• Providing technical advice and liaising with relevant professional staff across multiple international locations
• Take responsibility and accountability for all related design aspects, from conceptional to final design.
• Co-ordinating with other disciplines on a project
• Quality control on deliverables (incl. modelling works, data / parameter management)
• Maintain project records in accordance with internal quality system.
• Challenge the team to remain ahead of the technology curve, regarding technological trends, as well as design execution.
• Develop scripts and add-ins to automate repetitive design aspects and / or to check various design compliance aspects (using e.g., Dynamo, Python)
• Experience with managing design teams, to complete tasks and produce high quality deliverables such as drawings, reports, schedules, and calculations on time.
