Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and registered Professional Quantity Surveyor (Pr QS) to join our team.

Position Information

Location: Johannesburg, South Africa

Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent

Salary: Market Related / Negotiable, based on experience

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent (BSc QS / BTech QS)
  • Registration with SACQSP as a Professional Quantity Surveyor (Pr QS) – Mandatory
  • Minimum of 7 years post-qualification experience in mining, petrochemical, or energy industries
  • Solid understanding of FIDIC, NEC, JBCC, or GCC contract suites
  • Strong experience in project cost control, budgeting, forecasting, and final account settlement
  • Knowledge of procurement and tender processes in EPC or large infrastructure projects
  • Proficient in QS software (e.g., WinQS, CCS Candy, or similar)
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and negotiation skills
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the full lifecycle of quantity surveying activities on complex projects within the mining, energy, or petrochemical sector
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates, bills of quantities (BOQs), and tender documentation
  • Monitor project expenditure and provide ongoing cost reports and value engineering analysis
  • Conduct contract administration, including progress claims, variations, and final accounts
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, project teams, and engineers to ensure commercial compliance
  • Support project planning with financial forecasting and risk assessments
  • Ensure alignment with industry regulations
Preferred Experience
  • Professional standards (SACQSP, SANS, CIDB, etc.)
  • Participation in procurement strategy development and tender evaluation processes
  • Monitoring subcontractor payments and managing disputes or contractual claims
  • Experience on large EPC or turnkey projects
  • Background in multi-disciplinary projects across Africa or internationally
  • Familiarity with green energy or renewable infrastructure projects
  • Exposure to public-private partnerships (PPP) or government-funded projects
