A leading HR services company is seeking a Professional Quantity Surveyor (PrQS) to lead cost management and commercial oversight for construction projects in Cape Town and Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of quantity surveying experience, with expertise in public sector projects and a strong understanding of local construction law and contract frameworks. Qualifications

• Minimum 5-7 years' experience in quantity surveying, with at least 3 years in a senior role.
• Proven track record in managing large scale public sector, commercial or construction projects.
• Strong understanding of South African construction law and contract frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and tender documentation.
• Manage contract administration across various frameworks.
• Conduct feasibility studies and value engineering assessments.
• Monitor project expenditures and ensure alignment with financial targets.
• Lead procurement processes and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Assess and certify progress payments and final accounts.
• Provide strategic input on cost-saving initiatives and risk management.
• Mentor junior quantity surveyors and contribute to team development.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation.

• Manage contract administration, including NEC, JBCC, and FIDIC frameworks
• Conduct feasibility studies and value engineering assessments
• Monitor project expenditures and ensure alignment with financial targets
• Lead procurement processes and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors
• Assess and certify progress payments and final accounts
• Provide strategic input on cost-saving initiatives and risk management
• Mentor junior quantity surveyors and contribute to team development
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including the Construction Regulations under the OHSA
