Job summary

A clinical research organization based in Durban is seeking qualified nursing professionals to join their clinical research team focused on HIV vaccines and treatment. Candidates must have a Nursing and Midwifery diploma or degree, registered with the South African Nursing Council, and possess at least two years of experience in HIV/ARV and phlebotomy. The role involves conducting informed consent, performing clinical examinations, and administering study-specific questionnaires and counselling. Job description

Our client’s goal is to undertake globally relevant and locally responsive research that contributes to understanding HIV Vaccines and Pathogenesis, Prevention and Epidemiology, the links between Tuberculosis and AIDS treatment and Covid-19.

The successful candidateS will join the clinical research team based at the Vulindlela Clinical Research and Durban sites.

Minimum Requirements
  • Diploma or degree in Nursing and Midwifery, with HIV/AIDS counselling qualification
  • Current Registration with South African Nursing Council (as a Professional Nurse)
  • At least 2 years HIV/ARV and phlebotomy experience
  • Experience with conducting physical exams, pelvic exams, pap smears and genital specimens’ collection.
  • Contraceptive provision
  • Knowledge, understanding and experience of treatment, care and management of HIV and STIs
  • Knowledge and understanding of COVID-19 infection control and prevention guidelines
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office (word, excel, outlook)
  • Fluency in English and isiZulu preferable
  • Research experience (Advantageous)
  • Good Clinical Practice Certification (Advantageous)
