Qualifications

Purpose of the position

To provide services and interventions that increase HIV prevention in Key Population community in the Cape Metropole : HCT, STI and TB screening as well as risk reduction counselling and education.

Minimum Requirements
  • Degree / Diploma in Nursing qualification
  • Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Professional Nurse
  • At least 2 years' experience in clinical trial / research coordination
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in nursing, post registration
  • NIMART accreditation would be an advantage
  • Drivers licence
  • Clear criminal record
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Fluent in English or any other South African languages
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct HIV, TB, STI prevention, counselling, screening, and referral services
  • Promote condom distribution, PrEP / PEP referral, safe male circumcision, and viral hepatitis prevention
  • Establish and manage fixed / mobile service points aligned with community needs
  • Map communities to identify Key Populations and establish referral networks for psychosocial and health services
  • Liaise between HTA team, health facilities, and community stakeholders
  • Maintain accurate reporting and ensure adherence to infection control standards
  • Supervise and support Community Health Workers, including training, development, and performance management
