As part of their continued growth, we are seeking a Technical Sales Engineer with a strong technical background and a passion for sales.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients in the water and waste water treatment sector.
- Identify new business opportunities, generate leads, and convert them into sales.
- Prepare and present detailed technical proposals and quotations tailored to customer needs.
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of water treatment technologies, products, and solutions.
- Meet and exceed monthly and annual sales targets.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams while independently managing your own sales pipeline.
- Stay updated with industry trends, technologies, and competitor activities.
- Travel to customer sites locally and internationally as required – territories include KZN, Lesotho, and Swaziland.
Requirements
- Educational Background: Degree or Diploma in Analytical Chemistry or Chemical Engineering. Additional certification in Water or Waste Water Treatment highly advantageous.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of technical sales experience in the water and waste water treatment industry. Proven track record with references required.
- Skills and Attributes: Clear understanding of modern sales techniques and principles; proven ability to find leads and close deals; strong verbal and written communication skills; highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); ability to prepare professional proposals and presentations; independent thinker with a structured approach; target-driven, ambitious, and career-focused; willingness to continuously learn and grow within a niche industry.
- Other Requirements: Valid driver’s license (non-negotiable); willingness and ability to travel locally and internationally as needed; valid passport; product knowledge of water treatment equipment and laboratory supplies is a strong advantage.
