A leading food processing company in Johannesburg is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee daily operations within the Deboning Hall. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Plan and co-ordinate daily/weekly production schedules.
  • Manage day-to-day operations to meet production targets.
  • Report on daily yields and track line efficiencies.
  • Identify training needs and provide coaching.
  • Maintain adherence to food safety and quality assurance standards.
  • Prepare reports on performance and present them to senior managers.

Job description
Purpose

The Production Supervisor oversees daily operations within the Deboning Hall ensuring that production target, quality standards, safety protocols and regulatory compliance are consistently met. This role requires strong leadership, attention to detail and a deep understanding of meat processing techniques and food safety standards.

Requirements
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years’ supervisory experience in a meat or food processing plant, preferably in a unionised environment.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance.
  • Minimum National Diploma / Degree or equivalent.
Preferred
  • HACCP or equivalent food safety certificate.
Responsibilities
  • Plan and co-ordinate daily / weekly production schedules.
  • Manage the day to day operations and assist in all areas of production to meet production targets.
  • Report on daily yields and track line efficiencies.
  • Identify training needs and provide appropriate training and coaching on the production floor.
  • Maintain constant adherence to all company, customer and legal requirements regarding Food safety, authenticity, Quality assurance, HR policies, procedures and labour legislation.
  • Participate in departmental meetings regarding product quality and processes when required.
  • Ensure the highest levels of Service, Quality and Workmanship are maintained.
  • Drive a culture of excellent adherence to Health & Safety of all employees through the maintenance of a safe working environment.
  • Understand Company Quality Policy statement and implement its requirements.
  • Ensure that all customer expectations in respect of quality are met and exceeded where possible.
  • Monitor line giveaway on weights and packaging waste.
  • Prepare reports on performance and progress and present them to senior managers.
Staff Supervision

Supervise and guide production staff, monitor their productivity, and counsel them on how to achieve optimal workflows.
