The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in production management and 3 years in a supervisory role. Our client in the manufacturing sector is looking for a Production Supervisor who will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of a production team in a manufacturing or industrial setting and are responsible for ensuring that production runs efficiently, safely, and effectively to meet production goals and customer demands.
Production PlanningPrepare a complete production plan weekly in line with customer demand in advance, present and discuss with Management.Ensure all delivery commitments and predtermined production targets are met.Ensures that a high-quality standard is maintained.Responsible for initiating and enforcing company systems, procedures and policiesmunicating job expectations and ensuring production area is correctly and adequately staffed, and that team members are working efficiently.Plan and allocate work to employees against the production schedule and authorised changes.Ensures operation of equipment and tools by enforcing maintenance procedures and calling for repairs on non-working equipment.Production Management Oversee the production process ensuring that the production is accurate, on time and cost effective.Maintain production targets by ensuring that the required products are delivered on agreed timeliness.Improve the operational systems, processes and policies in support of organisations mission specifically support better management reporting, information flow and management, business process and organisational planning.Effectively manage all product production processes from initial assembly preparation to final product.Monitor, control and ensure completion of all daily tasks within the department.Create and ensure safe working conditions at all times and ensure that health and safety guidelines are followed at all times.Select equipment and take responsibility for its maintenance.Relationship Management Establish, enhance and maintain effective communication with Quality Control / Assurance, Logistics and other functional areas.Interfaces with QA Dept. to ensure the highest degree of final quality and develop new and better-quality methods.Render advice and guidance to the logistics function to endure effective and efficient supply of materialsmunicate and liaise with other departmental managers regarding throughput of stock to ensure production targets are met.Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance.Ensure an effective interface with other departmental staff is maintained.Data Analysis and Reporting Provides manufacturing information by sorting, initiating, compiling, and analysing production data and report status of production to management on a regular basis, immediately highlight issues (i.e., component and tool shortages) and / or constraints to management.Attending daily / weekly / monthly production meetings and gives a report on bottle necks / achievements within his department.Cost Management Prepare the annual Manufacturing budget, forecasts and all capital expenditure proposals as well as ensuring compliance with legal standards.Ensure that the production will be cost effective by estimating costs and negotiating and agreeing budgets with both clients and managers.Responsible for achieving Production budget and forecast.People ManagementSet Key Performance indicators and outcomes of staff and processes within the department.Ensuring all team members are following health & safety procedures, wearing the correct PPE, etc.Creating a positive working environment and team spirit.
Minimum Qualifications B-Tech - Production or Industrial EngineeringMinimum Experience At least 5 Years experience in production managementAt least 3 Years experience in a supervisory role
