Job description

We are looking for an experienced Production Supervisor to oversee production processes on a shift work basis in a food safe environment, reporting to the Production Manager. The successful candidate shall ensure maximum production with the correct quality and minimum waste. The Production Supervisor will take full responsibility of the shift operation, managing resources, ensuring consistent quality, enforcing safety and maintain good housekeeping standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Proven work experience as a Production Supervisor.
• Ensure that shift raw materials are available to meet the required production plan.
• Maintain product quality, safety and compliance and food safety standards.
• Manage the production team allocated to you including attendance, staff discipline and continues coaching.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Maintain good housekeeping standards and ensure that cleaning checklist is completed daily.
• Assist with machine changeovers during production and minimize down time.
• Hands on approach is strongly recommended.
• Short interval control and hourly output verification.
• Continued improvement and Identify areas of improvement.
• Accurate update and manage all production data and reporting.
• Managing and labelling of finished goods.
• Act as business manager, promoting proactive maintenance practices and sense of ownership.

Qualifications and Experience

• Grade 12.
• Computer literacy is a must.
• A supervisory qualification will be a plus.
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Strong knowledge of BCEA.
• Good planning and leadership skills.
