Based in TAL Durban, the role requires the incumbent to control and supervise the operation of all production and raw material handling processes to ensure daily targets are met.
Main duties include but are not limited to:
- Manage all production, engineering and related activities including ISO;
- Ensure all breakdowns are attended to immediately and maintenance of the plant is done regularly;
- Rectify and repair all emergency breakdowns as soon as possible to eliminate loss of production;
- Adhere to the maintenance schedule system;
- Monitor the performance of subordinates and ensure targets are met;
- Draft weekly production planning and adjust where necessary to accommodate customer orders;
- Ensure that the raw materials required are enough for the planned production;
- Manage and facilitate purchase orders for local suppliers;
- Conduct cycle counts and stocktake and ensure that there are no variances;
- Monitor manufacturing expenses in line with the budget;
- Ensure that the plant is shut down and all equipment is switched off after daily production;
- Comply with the requirements of the Quality Management System (QMS);
- Contribute to a healthy and inclusive work environment within the division and team;
- Adhere to all Health & Safety standards in the factory.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a production environment
- Experience as a Millwright in a manufacturing environment
- In-depth electrical and mechanical experience in production
- Working knowledge of an operational batching plant with related equipment & machinery
