Production & Process Engineer job vacancy in Strand.

Our client is seeking candidates for a key technical position focused on the chemical formulation, production oversight, and process optimisation of flexible polyurethane foam manufacturing.

The successful individual will bring a blend of engineering discipline, mechanical aptitude, and leadership capability to a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Production & Process Control
    • Maintain consistent quality and performance in both continuous block production
    • Oversee foam formulations, ensuring the right material combinations for each grade
    • Develop and test new formulations, with attention to density, hardness, and performance characteristics
    • Maintain and update all technical documentation (formulas, test results, specifications)
    • Report on scrap rates, gas losses, and production test results to the Production Director
  • Operational Efficiency
    • Drive cost-saving initiatives and process improvements through cross-functional collaboration
    • Enforce and monitor compliance with safety protocols and regulatory standards
    • Ensure mechanical maintenance is carried out proactively, and troubleshoot where necessary
    • Lead and organise shop-floor teams to maintain productivity and alignment with company standards
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Liaise closely with the Sales Director on product development, technical feasibility, and commercial alignment
    • Work with internal chemists, engineers, and production staff to solve challenges and improve throughput
