Job summary

A leading recruiting agency in Johannesburg seeks a Production Manager to ensure efficient operations while adhering to safety standards. This role involves production planning, monitoring statistics, managing data on ERP systems, and continuous improvement strategies. Ideal candidates will have a diploma in Production/Operations management and 2 to 5 years of relevant experience. Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office is required.

Qualifications

  • A qualification in Production / Operations management is beneficial.
  • Previous experience as a Production planner/manager in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience in OHS and Quality management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure operations comply with safety legal requirements.
  • Production planning as required.
  • Monitor production process and quality continuously.
  • Communicate efficiently with Production Team and Senior Management.
  • Manage data related to Product, Supplier, and Customer.

Job description
Responsibilities
  • Ensure that operations are run efficiently, whilst complying with all safety legal requirements.
  • Production planning as required by company operations.
  • Monitor the production process, quality, and safety continuously.
  • Ensure that production is executed as per planning, meeting all targets and deadlinesmunicate efficiently with the Production Team and Senior Management.
  • Monitor production, quality, and safety statistics, and work on continuous improvement strategies with Management.
  • Participate in the maintenance and improvement of the company QMS system.
  • Participate in the maintenance and improvement of the company OHS system.
  • Plan and coordinate customer deliveries.
  • Involve in raw material control and monthly stock take.
  • Control costs in the production department.
  • Manage data related to Product, Supplier, and Customer on the company ERP system (NetSuite), OHS system, QMS, Production data, etc.
Qualifications & Experience
  • A qualification in Production / Operations management is beneficial.
  • Previous experience as a Production planner / manager in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience in OHS and Quality management systems.
Skills
  • Previous experience with ERP systems is beneficial.
  • MS Office proficiency.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Understanding of safety in a production environment, such as hazard identification, material storage requirements, and machine operating safety.
  • Basic finance knowledge of costing, overheads, and budget forecasting.
