Job summary

Talent Fox SA in Mokopane, Limpopo, is seeking a hands-on Production Manager to lead operations at its solvent extraction plant. You will drive safety, quality, and efficiency while managing people, equipment and processes to meet production targets.

Qualifications

• NQF 6 Diploma or Bachelors in Chemical, Mechanical or Process Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years in a continuous process manufacturing environment.
• At least 3 years in a supervisory/production management role.
• Experience in Highly Hazardous Process Environments (HHPE).
• Experience with flammable solvents, combustible dust or other hazards.
• Experience in edible oil, solvent extraction, chemical or petrochemical industries is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of solvent extraction, plant operations and safety management.
• Experience with production planning, plant reliability, maintenance.
• Lean, RCA and continuous improvement knowledge.
• Financial/business awareness including budgets, cost control, yield.
• ERP systems experience, production reporting and KPIs.

WE'RE HIRING: PRODUCTION MANAGER – EXTRACTION PLANT

Location: Mokopane, Limpopo

Salary: R100 000 – R120 000 per month (negotiable based on experience)

An established organisation within the manufacturing and processing industry is looking for a highly experienced, technically competent and results-driven Production Manager to lead operations at its solvent extraction plant in Mokopane, Limpopo.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing production operations, plant performance, process safety, quality control, equipment reliability and operational efficiency, ensuring production targets are achieved safely, efficiently and cost-effectively.

We are specifically looking for someone with strong experience in continuous process manufacturing and highly hazardous process environments, ideally within the edible oil, solvent extraction, chemical or petrochemical industries.

Minimum Requirements:

• National Diploma (NQF Level 6) or Bachelor's Degree (NQF Level 7) in: Chemical Engineering Mechanical Engineering Process Engineering
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a continuous process manufacturing environment.
• At least 3 years' experience in a supervisory or production management role.
• Demonstrated experience working in a Highly Hazardous Process Environment (HHPE) is essential.
• Experience working with flammable solvents, combustible dust or other major process safety hazards.
• Experience within edible oil processing, solvent extraction, chemical, petrochemical or similar process industries is highly advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of solvent extraction processes, plant operations and process safety management.
• Experience with production planning, plant reliability, preventative and predictive maintenance.
• Sound understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Root Cause Analysis and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong financial and commercial awareness, including production budgets, cost control and yield optimisation.
• Experience with ERP systems, production reporting and performance KPIs.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Hands-on, mechanically inclined and comfortable working in a demanding production environment.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, operational excellence and continuous improvement.
