Overview

Our client is seeking a dynamic Production Manager to join their team. This role involves overseeing the entire production process, coordinating all activities and operations to ensure manufacturing runs efficiently. The Production Manager will ensure that quality standards are met and customer deadlines are achieved.

Requirements
  • Education: Secondary Education: Grade 12; Tertiary Education: NQF6 in Production Management/Operations Management.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in a Production Manager role in the manufacturing industry.
  • Competencies: Knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Responsibilities
  1. Production Coordination
    • Implement production schedules to meet customer demands.
    • Coordinate activities with other departments.
    • Allocate resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to maximise efficiency.
    • Monitor processes and workflow, adjusting schedules as necessary.
    • Identify areas for improvement and cost reduction.
    • Conduct root cause analysis of production issues and implement corrective actions.
    • Implement inventory control measures to minimise waste.
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
    • Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
  2. Personnel Management
    • Manage subordinates in line with company policies, procedures, and industry agreements.
    • Lead, motivate, train, and supervise team members.
    • Ensure quality problems are reported immediately.
    • Monitor and direct workflow.
    • Conduct performance reviews and counsel employees as needed.
    • Motivate the team towards continuous improvement.
    • Promote workplace safety.
    • Share practical skills ("Show and Do").
    • Ensure team performance meets quality standards.
    • Communicate values and goals.
    • Proactively address misconduct.
    • Conduct discipline and counselling within policy limits.
  3. Health and Safety
    • Ensure adherence to health and safety standards and practices.
    • Report safety hazards or issues.
    • Report any accidents, incidents, and near-misses.
  4. Food (Product) Safety
    • Apply site-specific food safety principles and standards.
    • Report food safety hazards or issues.
    • Maintain all GMPs related to the FSMS.
  5. Quality
    • Apply company quality principles and standards.
    • Maintain GMPs.
  6. Reporting and Administration
    • Complete all reports and administrative tasks related to the position.
  7. General
    • Ensure the team knows what to do and where to find information in your absence.
    • Apply company principles and standards.
    • Be a role model in behaviour and work ethic.
  8. Self-development and Growth
    • Assess strengths and development areas and take actions to address weaknesses.
  9. Additional Duties
    • Carry out any other tasks as management requires based on operational needs.
