Job summary

Orbia Advance Corporation is seeking a Production Lead in the Western Cape region. You will coordinate the Production department, balance lines with the Planner, and drive KPIs including OEE and productivity.

You will ensure inventory control supports optimal stock levels while maintaining a safe, compliant workplace. You will lead Production and Assembly teams, manage maintenance coordination with the Maintenance and Quality departments, and promote Lean practices to continually improve

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a manufacturing environment.
• Engineering or operations qualifications as listed.
• Strong communication and analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all functions and day-to-day activities of the Production department.
• Manage daily production line balancing and optimization with the Planner.
• Drive KPIs: OEE, scrap, performance, availability and productivity.
• Inventory management to maintain optimal stock levels.
• Monitor production indicators using SAP, Power BI and MES.
• Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with Quality to resolve production issues.
• Promote safe working environment with the HSE Manager.
• Lead Lean initiatives and productivity improvements.
• Lead Production and Assembly teams, including scheduling and training.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate all functions and day-to-day activities of the Production department.
• Manage daily production line balancing and optimization in collaboration with the Planner.
• Drive achievement of key production KPIs, including OEE, scrap, performance, availability and productivity.
• Responsible for effective inventory management and control to ensure optimal stock levels
• Monitor and analyse production indicators using SAP, Power BI and MES, interpret performance trends, and implement corrective actions where required.
• Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities with the Maintenance department to minimise downtime and improve equipment reliability.
• Work closely with the Quality department to address and resolve production-related quality issues.
• Promote and enforce a safe working environment in collaboration with the HSE Manager.
• Play a senior role in driving Lean manufacturing principles, continuous improvement initiatives and productivity improvements.
• Lead and manage Production and Assembly teams, including manpower scheduling, timekeeping, training, performance management and discipline.

Requirements:

Education and Experience

Necessary qualification:

• BEng (Industrial or Mechanical) or equivalent
• BCom Operations & Supply Chain or equivalent

Necessary experience:

• 3+ years in a manufacturing environment

Our Offer

Working hours: Monday to Thursday 08h00-17h00, and Friday 08h00-16h00.

Permanent employment, subject to probation period of three (3) months
