Responsibilities
- Optimize Production operations to meet customer demands and maximise profitability.
- Provide effective leadership and mentorship to shopfloor employees.
- Manage employee conduct and disciplinary procedures within the Department.
- Continuously evaluate and implement processes improvements to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
- Collaborate with Sales Department to align production with customer delivery requirements and product availability.
- Identify and address deviations or non-conformances to ensure product quality standards are met.
- Develop and communicate weekly production plans ensuring alignment with relevant departments.
- Allocate the shop floor resources based on operational priorities and employee skill set.
- Monitor production outputs against targets and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Translate Business Strategy into operational objectives and actionable plans.
- Manage production inventory to eliminate stock variances.
- Promote Autonomous Maintenance and facilitate operator training.
- Apply Lean Manufacturing Principles to achieve production goals.
- Manage finished goods and stock and update the system daily.
- Promote Autonomous Maintenance and provide operators with necessary training.
- Intergrate preventative maintenance schedule into production plan.
- Upholding high standards of product quality and operational excellence.
- Ensure compliance with Health Safety and Environment regulations in accordance with Company Policies and legal requirements.
Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- National Diploma / Degree in Operations Management Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum10 years experience in a Manufacturing or Production environment with at least 3 years in a Managerial Role.
- Lean Manufacturing training is essential.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel Word and other relevant software applications.
- Strong communication skills in English both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated leadership and organizational capabilities.
- Ability to identify non-conformances and opportunities for improvement.
- Strong data analysis skills.
- Collaborative team player.
- Hands on experience with ERP systems.
- Must have own reliable transport.
