Overview

A well-established manufacturing company is seeking a highly skilled Production Manager for their plastic injection moulding facility. This role is critical in ensuring seamless operations across a high-volume, high-variety production environment.

Non-Negotiable Requirements

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a plastic injection moulding factory
• Proven ability to manage high-volume, high-variety manufacturing environments
• Strong technical knowledge – must be able to understand and explain technical issues to production teams (especially setters)
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a production management or similar senior role
• South African Citizen with a Code 08 driver’s license
• Technical qualification (N6, National Diploma, or Degree in Production / Operations Management, Engineering, or Industrial Technology)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint (and preferably database systems)

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily production operations, schedules, and team performance
• Lead and coach production staff directly (no supervisors in place)
• Oversee injection moulding machine settings, equipment performance, and troubleshooting
• Monitor and report on key metrics: scrap %, cycle time, absenteeism, delivery timelines
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across production and process areas
• Collaborate with Quality to resolve non-conformances and implement corrective actions
• Maintain production records and ensure ISO 9001 : 2015 compliance
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards
• Take full responsibility in the absence of the General Manager
