Job summary

We are looking for suitable candidates to fill the role of Production Manager / Site Manager at our new mine in Limpopo, close to Lebowakgomo.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the planning, development, and construction of open cast chrome mining operations and associated infrastructure.
  • Ensure full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and legal requirements throughout project execution.
  • Lead and coordinate contractors, engineering teams, and internal stakeholders to meet project timelines and budgets.
  • Implement operational readiness plans and establish site policies, procedures, and staffing structures.
  • Develop and foster relationships with government bodies, community stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
  • Manage a multidisciplinary team, promoting a strong safety and performance culture.
  • Oversee mine planning, pit development, haulage logistics, and beneficiation plant interface.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering or related field, Blasting ticket, MMCC
  • Minimum 8 years experience in mining, with 5 years in a similar management role at an opencast mine
  • Proven track record in managing Greenfields or large surface mining projects – preferably Chrome or other bulk commodities
  • Knowledge of Chrome beneficiation processes and tailings management
  • Familiar with applicable mining legislation, environmental standards, and community engagement best practices
  • Proficient in mine planning and project management software
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Driver's License and medically fit
