About the Role

Our client, a well-established manufacturing firm located in Mossel Bay, Western Cape , is seeking a diligent and skilled Production Line Technician. This hands-on role is essential for the smooth and efficient operation of our production lines, ensuring that quality standards are consistently met. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting various machinery and equipment on the production floor. This is a critical on-site position that requires meticulous attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Key Responsibilities

• Operate production machinery and equipment safely and efficiently according to established procedures.
• Monitor production processes, identify and address any deviations or malfunctions promptly.
• Perform routine maintenance, lubrication, and minor repairs on production equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, protocols, and good manufacturing practices (GMP).
• Conduct quality checks on products at various stages of the production process to ensure they meet specified standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to 5S principles.
• Assist in the setup and changeover of production lines for different products or batches.
• Work collaboratively with production supervisors and colleagues to achieve daily production targets.
• Report any equipment issues, safety concerns, or quality defects to the relevant supervisor immediately.

Requirements

• A relevant technical qualification (e.g., NTC, Trade Certificate) is advantageous but not always required if sufficient experience is demonstrated.
• Proven experience working as a machine operator or production technician in a manufacturing environment.
• Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems is helpful.
• Ability to read and interpret production specifications and operating manuals.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Good manual dexterity and physical stamina to perform tasks on the production floor.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
• Willingness to work shifts if required by the operational schedule.
• Residing in or near Mossel Bay, Western Cape is preferred.
