Job description
Role Overview

The Production Lead oversees overall production activities, ensuring cost‑effective and timely production. This role includes developing production schedules, applying lean principles, managing warehouse operations via ERP systems, and maintaining ISO compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure optimal utilization of resources, adherence to production schedules, and cost-control measures throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Apply lean inventory principles to identify and eliminate inefficiencies, reducing wastage and excess stock.
  • Coordinate labour, equipment, and materials to optimise throughput and minimise bottlenecks.
  • Set and monitor budget targets for production, evaluating variances and taking corrective actions.
  • Manage all aspects of the warehouse, including inventory control, stock accuracy, and efficient material flow to and from the production lines.
  • Design efficient layouts in factory/warehouse for raw materials, in‑process goods, and finished product to reduce handling time.
  • Maintain appropriate stock levels for all materials, preventing overstocking or stock‑outs.
  • Guarantee that all critical documents are systematically documented and accessible for compliance and quality assurance.
  • Implement and maintain quality control systems, ensuring products and processes meet the required standards and comply with relevant regulations (e.g., ISO standards, health and safety regulations).
  • Drive continual improvement and integration of systems and processes, leveraging technology to drive efficiency and sustainability.
  • Promote innovative approaches to production and warehouse operations, aiming to reduce costs, improve product quality, and ensure sustainable growth.
  • Manage procurement strategies incorporating health and safety factors and continuous development for yourself and your team.
ISO & Compliance
  • Standards: ISO
  • OSHAS
  • Best practices and local/national regulations for chemical manufacturing and warehousing. Utilise systems and processes developed and ensure compliance to best practices.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Chemistry / Chemical Engineering.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in Chemical Manufacturing and Warehouse Administration.
  • Previous experience and knowledge in Chemical Raw Material Sourcing.
  • Knowledge of Chemical manufacturing / blending.
  • Quality Control / ISO implementation and maintenance.
  • Industry exposure: chemical detergent and disinfectant.
  • Inventory Management experience.
