A leading technology provider in South Africa is seeking an experienced Product Manager to drive the strategy and development for their software and SaaS products. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in product management, particularly within FinTech. This role involves working closely with various teams to innovate and ensure commercial success across product lines.
The Product Manager will lead the strategy, development, and go-to-market execution across Interfile's suite of software and SaaS products.
This role is central to driving product innovation, customer adoption, and commercial success across digital payments, public sector platforms, and fintech solutions.
Strategy & Vision
Develop and own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap across Interfile's product lines, aligned with the company's growth ambitions.
Conduct continuous market research to understand industry trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes in the digital payments and fintech space.
Identify new opportunities and vertical markets, including new payment methods, value-added services, and geographic expansion.
Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as client adoption rates, usage metrics, and revenue impact.
Discovery & Prioritization :
Act as the voice of the customer by gathering and synthesizing feedback from clients, prospects, and internal teams.
Develop detailed user stories, journey maps, and clearly articulated solutions for developers and designers.
Manage and prioritize product backlogs to pivot according to industry vertical requirements.
Validate ideas through MVPs, pilot programs, and iterative feedback loops.
Go-to-Market Execution
Partner with Marketing to develop compelling vertical-led positioning, messaging, and sales enablement materials.
Train and enable Sales, Support, and 3rd Line teams to effectively deliver the product's value proposition.
Support strategic sales opportunities and client presentations as the product expert.
Analyze product performance post-launch and align with sales prospecting activities, including webinars and client engagements.
Stakeholder Management
Communicate product plans, progress, and results effectively to SLT, ELT, clients, and the broader Interfile community.
Build strong, collaborative relationships with internal teams and external partners (e.g., payment gateways, banks, technology providers).
Work closely with Finance and Sales to ensure product decisions support revenue, WIP, and cost objectives.
Relevant BSc or BComm required.
Product Management Certification beneficial
Scrum Certification beneficial.
MBA beneficial.
5+ years of experience in product management, with a proven track record of launching and managing B2B or enterprise software products.
Deep understanding and hands-on experience in the FinTech, Payments, or Public Sector domains.
Strong understanding of payments ecosystems, including EFT, card processing, reconciliation, and financial services platforms.
Familiarity with regulatory and compliance frameworks, such as : PCI DSS 4.0 – Secure cardholder data handling and compliance.3-D Secure (3DS) – Authentication protocols for card-not-present transactions.ISO
Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and product management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
Analytical mindset with experience in data-driven decision-making.
Familiarity with cloud platforms, APIs, and modern software architecture is a plus.
