Job summary

Luno is seeking a product-focused professional to own the institutional onboarding surface, delivering faster KYB processing with reduced abandonment. You will collaborate across compliance, legal and country teams to enable global access for institutions, and drive measurable improvements with data-driven prioritisation.

You will work in a flexible, remote-friendly environment with opportunities to influence fintech product strategy and governance in a regulated crypto platform.

Qualifications

• Experience building for regulated customers, not just end users.
• Ability to thrive in ambiguity at the product/compliance intersection.
• Ability to quantify drop-off and translate into prioritization decisions.
• Proven experience managing third-party vendor integrations and holding partners accountable.
• Strong stakeholder communication translating compliance or business decisions for engineering teams.
• Experience working with agile engineering teams for continuous delivery in fintech/crypto.

• Cut time-to-onboard from 9 days to 2 and reduce abandonment.

About The Team

You\u2019ll join the Institutional Access and Issuance portfolio, responsible for building the infrastructure that enables institutions to access Luno across business lines and regions. This portfolio serves Luno Institutional and Blocktower simultaneously, the work you do here is the foundation everything else depends on

The role in a nutshell:

You own the product surface for institutional onboarding. That means getting institutions through KYB faster, with less manual effort, and at a fraction of current abandonment. You\u2019re removing the friction that\u2019s costing us real revenue and blocking the rest of the portfolio from scaling

Your mission will be:

• Own the Sumsub KYB integration end-to-end: Luno Institutional, Blocktower, and global onboarding via Bermuda


• Cut time-to-onboard from 9 days to 2; reduce abandonment from 71% to 40%


• Work directly with compliance, legal, and country teams to navigate what "global access" actually means in practice


• Build the feedback loops that tell us whether onboarding is working, and fix it when it isn

A little about you:

• You understand what it means to build for regulated customers, not just end users


• You\u2019re comfortable in ambiguity at the intersection of product and compliance, you don\u2019t wait for someone to define the problem for you


• You know how to quantify drop-off and translate that into prioritisation decisions your pod can act on


• You\u2019re comfortable quantifying and prioritizing rigorously


• You\u2019ve managed third-party vendor integrations and know how to hold a partner accountable


• Strong stakeholder communication: you can synthesise a compliance or business decision into something an engineering team can build against. Similarly, you can translate revenue goals into meaningful, measurable work for your team


• Experience working with engineering teams in an Agile manner for continuous delivery, both to integrate with third-parties, and in developing new fintech and/or crypto products


• Proven experience working with multi-disciplinary teams to both create and implement a strategy of your own making, preferably in the fintech or crypto industry
