Job description

Join an agile team at South Africa's fastest growing fintech, where you'll work with disruptive payment solutions, AI adoption, and cutting‑edge technology within PayJustNow and Finchoice.

Be part of a purpose‑driven organization making a real difference—driving the next wave of financial inclusion and transforming how South Africans access payments, credit, and mobile services.

Role Overview

The absolute legend of a Product Designer we’re seeking will create visually stunning, user‑centered interfaces that complement Weaver Fintech's digital experience. You'll own a subset of the visual design of a product offering from concept to delivery, working closely with product, engineering, and marketing teams throughout the design lifecycle. As our Product Designer, you'll craft pixel‑perfect interfaces, build and maintain design systems, and ensure every touchpoint reflects our brand excellence. This role is central to driving user engagement, conversion optimisation, and visual consistency across Weaver Fintech's product portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design polished UI components for mobile platforms, including navigation systems, forms, buttons, icons, and interactive elements.
  • Create high‑fidelity mockups and prototypes that showcase visual hierarchy, typography, colour theory, and micro‑interactions.
  • Ensure visual consistency across all digital touchpoints while maintaining Weaver Fintech's brand identity.
  • Contribute to UX strategy by creating user flows, wireframes and low‑fidelity prototypes; conduct basic usability assessments and recommend improvements based on user behaviour principles.
  • Collaborate on information architecture to ensure intuitive navigation and content organisation.
  • Participate in user research activities when needed to inform design decisions.
  • Partner with developers to ensure accurate design implementation and maintain design quality through QA.
  • Work alongside marketing teams to conceptualise and execute creative campaigns that drive engagement.
  • Collaborate with product managers to align interface design with product strategy and user needs.
  • Evolve current design system and brand guidelines; optimise design workflows using tools like Figma, Adobe Creative Suite and prototyping platforms.
  • Stay current with UI/UX trends, design tools and digital best practices; contribute to design critiques and creative brainstorming sessions.
Desired Qualifications & Competencies
  • 3–5 years Product Designer experience.
  • Expert‑level proficiency in typography, colour theory, layout and composition.
  • Advanced skills in Figma (primary) and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator).
  • Experience building and maintaining component libraries and style guides.
  • Strong understanding of responsive design for multiple screen sizes and platforms.
  • Working knowledge of user flows, wire‑framing and basic usability principles.
  • Experience with Prototyping and animation tools (Principle, ProtoPie, After Effects).
  • Basic understanding of HTML/CSS for better developer collaboration.
  • Experience with A/B testing and data‑driven design decisions.
  • Fintech or e‑commerce design experience preferred.
