Overview

A leading global private markets manager is seeking a Procurement Specialist to join their newly established procurement function in Cape Town. Responsibilities
  • Lead and support sourcing events by managing requests for quotations (RFQs) and requests for proposals (RFPs), evaluating suppliers thoroughly, and facilitating commercial negotiations to secure optimal value for the organisation.
  • Oversee operational procurement activities including purchase order preparation, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services in accordance with service level agreements to maintain seamless business operations.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across various departments to understand their requirements and deliver solutions that balance value creation, compliance standards, and effective risk management.
  • Support the onboarding process for new suppliers by ensuring alignment with third-party risk management policies, thereby safeguarding the organisation against potential vendor-related risks.
  • Monitor supplier performance consistently, address any issues proactively, and nurture relationships with key partners to drive continuous improvement and foster innovation within supplier networks.
  • Partner with Category Managers in executing category plans while contributing actively to the development of procurement strategies and ongoing improvement initiatives that enhance overall efficiency.
  • Facilitate communication between internal teams and external suppliers to ensure mutual understanding of expectations, fostering dependable partnerships built on trust and transparency.
  • Maintain accurate records of procurement activities using relevant systems and tools, supporting audit readiness and regulatory compliance throughout all stages of supplier engagement.
  • Participate in regular reviews of procurement processes to identify areas for enhancement, recommending changes that promote best practice adoption across the business.
  • Provide expert advice on compliance requirements, risk management principles, and regulatory frameworks as they relate to procurement activities within the organisation.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience of at least five years as a Procurement Specialist or in a similar capacity within procurement or supply chain management environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related discipline is essential for success in this role.
  • Exceptional organisational skills coupled with acute attention to detail enable you to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining high standards of accuracy.
