A civil construction company is looking for a Procurement Officer/Workshop Buyer in Cape Town. This role requires sourcing and ordering parts while maintaining detailed records and overseeing stock control. The ideal candidate should have a matric, 3+ years of experience in parts buying for heavy machinery, and strong negotiation and computer skills. Competitive salary offered between R18,000 and R28,000 monthly.

Workshop Buyer/Procurement Officer - Civil Engineering

Salary expectations: R18 000 - R28 000 pm

Civil Construction Company seeks a Parts Buyer to source and get quotations for parts.

  • You will be responsible for ordering and buying parts after quotations have been approved.
  • Updating and keeping control of ground engaging tools, filters v/belts, and other parts on a database, as well as updating service sheets.
  • Arranging services and bookings, collecting plant hours on Monday mornings for review meetings.
  • Delivering and collecting vehicles to and from service.
  • Collecting of parts that cannot be delivered, keeping a record of plant and small plants available at head office on a database.
  • Responsible for all clerical work in the workshop office and controlling the cleaning of the workshop office and toilets.
  • You will be responsible for stock keeping and control of parts and oils in and out of stores, the database of stock and lubricants, and keeping the store clean and tidy.
  • Your duties will include stock keeping and control of tyres in and out of the store, keeping a database of new tyres and spares
  • You will be responsible for stock keeping and control of small plant in and out of small plant stores.
  • Must have matric, a minimum of 3 years experience in parts buying-heavy machinery for the plant
  • Qualifications: Administrative Diploma / NQF 4
  • Key Requirements: Computer literate Word, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.
  • Advanced Excel
  • Able to perform limited yard duties
  • Attention to detail.
