A leading supplier in electrical solutions in Durban is seeking a Buyer to handle procurement for electrical supplies, manage supplier relationships, and ensure stock availability for projects. The role involves collaboration with various teams to optimize inventory levels and meet customer demands. Candidates must be based in Durban.
You will be responsible for the procurement of electrical supplies and solutions to support sales, projects, and contracts. This role ensures optimal stock levels, timely sourcing, and strong supplier relationships to meet business needs.

The Buyer will work cross-functionally with demand planning, sales, marketing, project, and contracts teams to ensure supply chain efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Job Description: Procure to meet stock turn days and fill rate targets per brand. Procure stocked lines in conjunction with sales demand, incorporating lead time and safety stock to alleviate stock outs.
Identify common Buyout items and recommend stocking, based on movement and sales input.
Identify and input minimum stock levels on fast moving lines based on supplier lead times, trends in sales and forecasts.
Identify sales trends and procure accordingly using Netstock, interact with sales teams and demand planning for understanding and provide feedback to demand planner with regards to customer forecasts.
Work with Marketing, Sales and Forecasting Teams to deliver CX + targets. Work with sales, marketing and technical on new product and catalogue launches. Work with demand planner on forecast inputs, for the strategic improvement of increasing the product basket and improving the customer service through stock availability. Create awareness, analyse and share information regarding stock with sales teams (New stocked items, price increases etc.). Assist in formulating and updating recommended selling prices on all stock items, in Sage and CRM.
Expedite orders, keep sales team informed on ETAs by means of weekly updates.
Assist with contracts and tender pricing ensuring price stability for contract duration, keeping within margin goals.
Project Procurement to meet project timelines: Liaise with the project teams to ensure timely procurement and delivery of goods required for ongoing and upcoming projects.
Ensure pricing in maintained for all project items for proposal build. Supplier and Inventory Management to meet Customer Demand and internal stocking targets. Increase focus on key suppliers and approved vendors, which includes building strong relationships and negotiating stock purchases and
