Procurement and Demand Specialist – Packaging


Are you a detail-oriented procurement professional with a passion for packaging and supply chain excellence?


SkinChem is looking for a dynamic Procurement and Demand Specialist to join our team and help drive operational efficiency in our fast-paced manufacturing environment.


Role Overview

The Procurement and Demand Specialist plays a critical role in aligning procurement activities with demand planning to ensure optimal inventory levels, cost efficiency, and supply continuity.


This role bridges the gap between purchasing and forecasting, working closely with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and data systems to support production and customer fulfillment.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field.

  • Proven experience in procurement, demand planning or supply chain roles, preferably in packaging or manufacturing.

  • Strong negotiation, communication and organisational skills.

  • Proficiency in ERP systems, Microsoft Office and data management.

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate cross‑functionally.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.


Key Responsibilities

Procurement Operations

Accurately capture and manage data for purchase orders, product receipts, movement journals, invoices, and sales orders.


Procure packaging materials based on production needs and customer sales orders.


Ensure timely delivery of stock to minimize production delays.


Maintain lean stock levels and minimize write‑offs.


Verify and submit supplier invoices promptly.


Negotiate competitive pricing and manage price adjustments.


Update item price lists and purchase orders with current pricing.


Foster strong supplier relationships and resolve stock issues efficiently.


Stock Control

Prepare and execute smooth stock takes.


Investigate and report on stock variances with accuracy.


Sourcing for New Projects

Source creative, cost‑effective packaging solutions with optimal MOQs.


Collaborate with R&D to ensure timely receipt of designs, INCIs, and artwork.


Manage sample requests and approvals before initial orders.


Systems & SOPs

Contribute to the development and implementation of procurement systems and standard operating procedures.
