As they continue to expand their operations, they are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Procurement Agent to join their team.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet manufacturing requirements, including sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and securing the best pricing and terms for materials, equipment and services.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and maintain a strong understanding of market trends, pricing and industry best practices.
  • Evaluate supplier performance through vendor assessments and regular audits to ensure compliance with quality standards and delivery timelines.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure alignment with production schedules and demand forecasts, and proactively address any potential supply chain disruptions.
  • Manage the purchase order process, including reviewing requests, selecting suppliers and negotiating terms and conditions to optimise supplier performance and minimise costs.
  • Monitor inventory levels and implement inventory management strategies to maximise working capital efficiency while minimising stockouts and excess inventory.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, leveraging these partnerships to continuously improve quality, delivery and cost‑effectiveness.
  • Work closely with the legal and compliance teams to ensure contract terms and conditions are adhered to and manage any supplier disputes or performance issues as they arise.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, attend conferences and participate in professional development opportunities to enhance procurement knowledge and skills.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of proven experience working as a procurement agent in the manufacturing industry.
  • In‑depth understanding of procurement best practices, sourcing strategies and contract negotiation.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to make well‑informed decisions in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) in both English and Afrikaans.
  • Proficient in using procurement software and systems.
  • Knowledge of local and international procurement regulations, customs procedures and import/export processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • Must have a valid SA driver’s licence.
