Job summary

JVR Software seeks a capable Process Engineer with 3-5 years of relevant experience to join our Process Engineering Department. You will develop practical, cost-effective process solutions from design to commissioning and testing, with exposure to multidisciplinary projects and technical problem-solving.

The role emphasises mass and energy balances, process modelling, equipment sizing and process documentation, with opportunities to lead smaller projects and contribute to safety studies.

Qualifications

We are seeking a capable and motivated Process Engineer with 3-5 years' relevant experience to join the company's Process Engineering Department.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing practical, cost-effective process engineering solutions, from initial design and process modelling through to commissioning and testing.
This position offers excellent exposure to multidisciplinary engineering projects, technical problem-solving and project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop mass and energy balances, process calculations and equipment specifications.
• Prepare BFDs, PFDs, P&IDs, control philosophies and process design reports.
• Perform process modelling, simulations and equipment sizing calculations.
• Prepare technical specifications, cost estimates and tender documentation.
• Determine utility requirements, insulation and heating specifications.
• Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs and other process safety studies.
• Support plant inspections, commissioning, testing and performance evaluations.
• Prepare operating procedures and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and provide guidance to junior engineers.
• Take responsibility for assigned process engineering deliverables and smaller projects.
• Degree or Diploma in Chemical Engineering from a recognised institution.
• 3-5 years' relevant process engineering experience.
• Experience in chemical processing, metallurgy, mining, gas cleaning or related process industries.
• Sound understanding of mass and energy balances, process equipment and engineering design documentation.
• Experience with process simulation and design calculations.
• Exposure to PFDs, P&IDs, HAZOP studies and commissioning activities.
• Strong analytical, technical and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary project teams.
